CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.  – Two members of Austin Peay’s Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison’s senior staff have had title changes to reflect new roles heading into 2019-20.

Sara Robson was elevated to Associate Director of Athletics for Operations, while Jordan Harmon was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Development, reflecting his hand-in-hand work with the athletics department.

“As we move in to year two it is important to recognize these staff members for their outstanding contributions to the success and the future of Austin Peay Athletics,” Harrison said. “Both Sara  and Jordan share my commitment to the Total Gov concept and work tirelessly to support our student athletes and each individual that supports them.”

Robson, who stepped down as head women’s golf coach in December 2017, has been a vital member of the senior staff since Harrison took over last August. In her role, the day-to-day operations of the athletic department have been streamlined, while she has taken an active role in simplifying departmental travel and serving as the liaison between athletics and integral departments in other parts of campus.

“Sara is a leader,” Harrison said. “She has provided stability and efficiency to our internal processes. Our operational infrastructure is stronger today than it was when I arrived in August of last year and huge part of this transformation has been her willingness to work at it everyday. Her promotion to Associate Director of Athletics is well-deserved.”

Harmon, who joined the University Advancement office in 2017, played a pivotal role in athletics having a record year in revenue generation in 2018-19. $2.5 million of the $3.6 million total was successfully acquired through athletics fundraising.

“Though not technically a promotion for Jordan his new title better represents his role as a member of the athletics team,” Harrison said. “Jordan’s role overseeing athletics development as a part of the University Advancement team allows us to work together as good citizens on campus to reach our philanthropic goals and better meet the needs of our student-athletes.”
