Lady Eagles pick up 55-point win

By Bryan Williams

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – After building a 20-point first-quarter lead, Northeast beat West Creek 65-10 in a District 10 AAA girls’ game Friday.

The win was a solid comeback for the Lady Eagles, following a district lost to Henry County as they attempt to climb the district standings. The Lady Eagles are 16-11 overall and 10-6 in 10-AAA.

West Creek’s struggles, offensively and defensively, continue as it fell to 0-12 in 10-AAA and 0-14 overall.

Northeast’s Cierra Bowser led all scorers, as she would score five of her 13 points in the second quarter. Sophomore guard Adryanna Smith scored nine points in the second quarter.

Following a quick start in the first quarter, the Lady Eagles kept the momentum going in second half as they held the Lady Coyotes scoreless. Bowser forced countless turnovers in transition and scored four points in the third, as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 55-point win.
