CLARKSVILLE – A first-ever meeting between Austin Peay and Ole Miss is the first piece of the Govs’ 2021 nonconference schedule, announced Thursday.

“We are thrilled to provide our student-athletes with the opportunity to play a Power Five program from the SEC and we look forward to visiting Vaught-Hemingway Stadium,” Austin Peay Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison said. “This allows us to provide a unique and special experience for our student-athletes and our loyal supporters.”

Austin Peay and Ole Miss will take the field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Sept. 11, 2021 – a Week 2 matchup between the teams. It will be the Govs fourth-ever trip to the state of Mississippi, and first since a 2015 trip to Southern Miss.

In recent weeks, Austin Peay has announced its 2020 nonconference schedule, featuring a season-opening trip to Cincinnati, a 2022 contest at Western Kentucky and a home-and-home series with Southern Illinois in 2023-24.
