Collins drops 20, CHS wins finale

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Mya Collins scored a game-high 20 points as the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats beat the Kenwood Lady Knights, 53-37, in a season-ending District 10-AAA game Friday.

Coming off a down-to-the-wire game days earlier, the Lady Wildcats carried the same energy, as they ended the first quarter with a 21-6 lead.

The Lady Knights rallied in the second quarter as Kenwood guard Iyanna Curtis hit a layup, followed by a 3-pointer from the top of the key, as they cut Clarksville High’s lead to 32-26 at halftime.

In the fourth quarter, Collins stepped up as she scored 10 points to help the Lady Wildcats pull away for a 53-37 win.

The Lady Wildcats moved to 13-11 overall, 11-5 in the district. The Knights finished 5-19 overall, 4-12 in the district.
