By Bryan Williams

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville High had three players score in double figures as it beat Northeast 48-45 in a District AAA game Tuesday.

Coming off a 55-point win against West Creek, the Lady Eagles had all the momentum as it attempted to climb the District 10-AAA standings. As for the Lady Wildcats, they were looking to bounce back from a loss to Cane Ridge last Friday.

The Lady Wildcats held a 12-10 lead after the first quarter, then Erin Lackey scored three of her 14 points in the second quarter on a layup and free throw to give the Lady Wildcats a 22-17 halftime lead.

Mya Collins scored eight of her 19 points in the third quarter in an attempt to hold off the Lady Eagles, but guard Amaya Moore scored six of her 11 points in the third, as she hit a 3 at the buzzer to cut the Lady Wildcats’ lead to three going into the fourth quarter.

Lady Eagles point guard Ceira Brower scored five of her 15 points in the fourth quarter, but Mya Collins was too much in the fourth, followed by Lackey scoring six, as the Lady Wildcats held on for the three-point win.

Clarksville High moved to 12-11 overall and 10-5 in the district with the regular-season finale with Kenwood set for Friday. Northeast (14-12, 9-7) closes the regular season at Lyon County, Ky. Friday.
