Baseball notes: Robles has strong week at plate

Here is Tnsports360’s weekly update of baseball players from Austin Peay and the Clarksville area and how are they playing this season.

  • J. Ellis, a right-handed catcher for the San Diego Padres, had eight at bats over the past seven days. He didn’t have a hit but had a walk.
  • Shawn Kelley, a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, threw four innings over the past week. He struck out two while giving up one hit with an ERA of .000.
  • Alex Robles, a right-handed third baseman for the Elizabethton Twins, has been to the plate 22 times over the past seven days. He had nine hits, five RBIs, two runs, a walk and five strikeouts.
  • Wes Parsons, pitcher for the Gwinnett Stripers, picked up a win, throwing seven innings over the past week. Parsons struck out six batters, gave up five hits, and two walks with an ERA of 2.98.
  • Alec Mills, a right-handed for the Iowa Cubs, pitcher in 2.1 innings and took a loss over the past seven days. In 2.1 innings, Mills gave up five hits, struck out three batters, walked four, and gave up five earned runs with an ERA of 5.06.
  • Scooter Hightower, a right-handed pitcher who plays for the Altoona Curve, pitched in 3.2 innings over the past week. He struck out six batters, gave up five hits, along with three earned runs with an ERA of 7.36.
  • Casey Delgado, pitcher for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, pitched six innings and was credited with a save over the past seven days. In six innings pitched, he struck out five batters, gave up four hits, allowed three earned runs with an ERA of .450.
  • Ryne Harper, a right-handed pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts, pitched in 3.2 innings over the past week. He struck out seven batters, gave up five hits, and four earned runs with an ERA of 3.38.
