Baseball notes: Catching up with locals in the pros

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. –  Here is Tnsports360’s weekly update of baseball players from Austin Peay and the Clarksville area and how are they playing this season.

  • A.J Ellis, catcher for the San Diego Padres, had four at bats over the past seven days with one hit, one run, and three walks with a batting average of .250.
  • Shawn Kelley, right-handed pitcher for the Washington Nationals, pitched in 1.1 innings over the past week with one strikeout, one hit, one earned run and an ERA of 6.75.
  • Jared Carkuff was released by the Fort Wayne TinCaps.
  • Ryne Harper, a right-handed pitcher who plays for the Chattanooga Lookouts, threw five innings over the last week with seven strikeouts and seven hits with an ERA of 3.00.
  • Ridge Smith, catcher for the Lansing Lugnuts, is on the seven-day disabled list.
  • Casey Delgado was released by the Binghamton Rumble Ponies.
  • Wes Parsons, a right-handed pitcher for the Gwinnett Stripers, threw in six innings with nine strikeouts and no hits with an ERA of 3.00.
  • Alec Mills, who is pitching with the AAA Iowa Cubs, is 3-4 this season with a 3.77 ERA. Mills has started in 11 games this season.
