Clarksville, Tenn. The Clarksville High Lady Wildcats stormed out the gate and didn’t look back as they rolled past the Northeast High Lady Eagles 64-21 Tuesday.

In a game that pitted the first-place Lady Wildcats against the seventh-place Lady Eagles, the Lady Wildcats dominated the matchup. The Lady Wildcats opened with a 12-2 run in the first seven minutes and held a 32-5 lead at the half.

The Lady Wildcats eventually built a 43-5 lead in a game that moved them closer to clinching the outright District 10-AAA title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming tournament. The Lady Wildcats (14-1, 18-6) earned a share of the regular-season title and could win it outright when they play at Henry County Thursday.

Clarksville High’s Scotti Harrison scored a game-high 17 points while Lucy Chilcutt had 13 points. Northeast’s Dahjana Prince finished with six points, while five of her teammates finished with fewer than five points.

“I think our effort was there tonight,” Lady Wildcats coach Brian Rush said. “I thought the girls did a good job of moving the ball early. We were down a couple of players tonight and had other players step in and step up.

“We lost a lot of girls to injury throughout the year and we asked girls to step up and assume the new roles and keep moving forward.”
